Browsing documents

In the web app you can browse, search, sort and filter documents with ease, helping you find what you need in just a few moments.

Lists vs grids

You can choose to browse documents in your Workspace either as a list Bullet List or a grid Grid View. To switch between these two views, click the buttons in the top-right corner of the web app’s menu bar.

Searching, filtering and sorting documents

Searching documents

To search for a document, click a project from the left sidebar and enter your search terms. If you’re not sure in which project the document is in, head over to All Documents to search the entire Workspace. Search results won’t include documents in the Trash, so you may want to take a look there if you can’t find what you’re looking for.

Filtering documents

If your Workspace has lots of documents, try some sorting and filtering options to help you find what you’re looking for. While you’re viewing or searching for documents, click the Filter drop-down next to the search bar and select from the following options:

  • All documents: Searches all documents in the Workspace, excluding those in the Trash
  • With prototypes: Includes documents that also have prototypes in search results
  • You can edit: Shows documents that you can edit in the Mac app
  • Include documents in projects: Uncheck this option if you think your document is not inside a project
  • Include archived documents: Includes archived documents if you have the feature enabled in your Workspace

In addition, when you’re searching for a project you can enable Hide collections if you don’t want to see collections in your search results. However, documents that are inside collections will still appear.

To remove all filters, click Reset next to the Filter dropdown.

The Mac app’s search in the Workspace window doesn’t currently include sorting or filtering options — so you may want to use the web app if you want to refine your search.

Sorting documents

You can sort documents by Name, Date Created and Last Updated — and view any of them in ascending or decending order by clicking the up or down arrows respectively.
